Welcome to the Harlaxton Village Memorial Hall in the beautiful village of Harlaxton situated in the quite countryside just outside Grantham.
Harlaxton Village Hall was built by the villagers and returning soldiers a commemoration for those from the village who took part in the Great War, 1914-18. The
foundation stone was laid in 1920 and villagers bought bricks for 2 shillings 6 pence each, approximately £10 in 2021 terms.
The building is now owned by Harlaxton Parish Council and managed on a day-to-day basis by Harlaxton Village Hall Committee. The Hall is a registered charity
[Registered Charity No 521843 (1963)] and is independently managed by its trustees which are elected yearly.
The main hall was extensively refurbished in December 2020 and now provides a bright and fresh venue for wedding receptions, parties, celebrations, theatre, concerts,
dance, as well as special interest clubs, training events and meetings and social and community activities.
The committee is made up of representatives of the main user groups including: Harlaxton Women’s Institute, Lite Bite Luncheon Club, Harlaxton Parish Council, as well
as co-opted members.
In 2020 the Hall building benefited from an overhaul of the heating system, new ceiling in the main hall and new LED light panel, which really brightened up the space.
